Sachin of the old!!

Sach’in’ is back and how!!!
The little master blasted 93 off 96 balls in the first ODI and today he ruled with 67 off 69 balls!!
Sachin played an array of impressive shots tormenting the Clueless Sri Lankans
Some of his gems...
"A pick-up shot that could not be played by a man with one good hand - the ball sailed high for six over midwicket."
And this...
"A trademark on-drive, just about a push, raced past the bowler"
Like Anand Vasu the assistant editor of Cricinfo mentions in his article
"One journalist could not conceal his glee in the press box. "God is back." "
Yeah!!
Lets hope he continues his blistering form!!
Go Sachin Go!!!

The Truth?

We already know this - Pak feared exposure of militant camps, don’t we?
Accusing Pakistan of adopting an "indifferent attitude towards the people of quake-ravaged Pakistan-occupied Kashmir", Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front has said Islamabad "turned down international help in the rubble-strewn areas because of fear of "exposure" of militant camps there.

Bond, James Bond

Being an ardent fan of Britain’s most stylish Super spy, I was keenly following the 'hunt' for the new James Bond. Finally, the hunt is over. Read on...

Daniel Craig has been revealed as the new James Bond!!
This was announced at a press conference in London. Daniel '007' Craig arrived to the scene by a Speedboat!!
He will take over from Pierce Brosnan for the next film Casino Royale. Casino Royale is due to start filming in January.

The English Media is going over board about this 'New Bond' being the first 'Blond' Bond!!
(Hey, I just 'made up' a tongue twister!! New Bond is the first Blond Bond!!!)

Other contenders for the job were Clive Owen, Ewan McGregor, Jude Law and Colin Farrell. And if rumors are to be believed Eric Bana and Orlando Bloom were in the list too.
Excerpt from BBC News
Culver City, CA October 14, 2005 – It was announced today by producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Inc. and Sony Pictures Entertainment, that DANIEL CRAIG has been cast in the role of the legendary British secret agent, James Bond, in the highly anticipated 007 adventure thriller CASINO ROYALE.

Dravid is Back!!

Yea, The Indian selectors named Rahul Dravid as captain for the one-day series against Sri Lanka and South Africa. Hope Dravid does well and more importantly lets hope this is not a stop-gap arrangement!!
Fingers crossed.
If the selectors are to believed this a'int a temporary arrangement, and Gangs is out of captaincy for good!!
This is what Cricket Board Secretary S K Nair has to say...

Cricket Board Secretary S K Nair, after an hour's meeting of the National Selection Committee here, said the Committee's decision was unanimous and had nothing to do with the injury to Ganguly.

"It has nothing to do with Ganguly. He will be considered as a player depending on the (fitness) report which will be submitted by the physio John Gloster on the 17th (October)," Nair said after the meeting.

Asked if the decision to appoint Dravid as captain meant the selectors desired a change, Nair said, "Obviously, when it is a different name, it means a change".
Hmm let's see!!
The squad for the first two matches of the Sri Lanka series would be announced on Friday.

Who let the dogs out??

Dogs, I hate dogs. Call me whatever, but I still despise dogs.
Well, now that you know how much I loathe the four legged creature, let me tell what I hate more, the owners of the dogs.
Seriously.
Let me tell you about a small 'incident' that happened yesterday.
I was walking back home after a long day's work. Suddenly 2 dogs (alsatian breed!!) came running towards me with their "fangs" clearly showing, panting.
WTF WTF WTF WTF, were my only thoughts @ that moment.
Well, they weren't after me after all :-), they found something more interesting and passed thru me.
Relief.
And then I heard a voice (no not god), "aye, jimmy, NO. Baa illi"(for Kannada challenged - Aye Jimmy, NO, come here).
That was the owner of the 2 dogs.
Apparently, the guy had taken the dogs for their 'evening walk' and didn't bother leashing them. Me thinks he has a wee bit of over-confidence that he can control the dog with his 'voice'.
Bull S.
What if the dogs don't ‘listen’ to him??
Pain.Injections.Rabies
Aaargh.

Tip (Read, blind belief/superstition); if you chant shriram jayram incessantly, the dogs seem to move away from you. Works only when the dogs are calm or asleep ;-)

P.s 90% of the dogs are called jimmy, tommy, julie or tiger in bangalore.

Are you happy??

Well, According to a survey by GfK NOP, a market research company, you probably are!
This survey found "Indians are world's 4th happiest people".
Hmm,
were there any software engineers involved in the survey??
I doubt it ;-)

Tintin in Hindi!!

Yeah, This had to happen.
Tintin ventures into India's rural markets
Well, Some of the expressions like "Blistering Barnacles" translates unexpectedly as "bhadakte hue baingan" and "Thundering typhoons" comes out as "toofani lehren"!! Bit disappointing, if you ask me.

How to spot a fake currency note

How to spot a fake/counterfeit currency notes.
Mid-day tells you how - Read this: How to spot a fake Gandhi

This reminds me of a joke that my friend used to tell when I was in college.
Friend: Maga, how sure are you if the 100 Re. Note you have is genuine and not a fake?
Me: Pretty sure, (I hold it up) see there's a silver line, a watermark....
Friend: tut tut, there's an easier way.
Me: cool, how??
Friend: First, you Fold the note like this... (Folds it in half widthwise and then into lengthwise)
Now, hit the note with your fist, like this... (Hits it hard)
Unfold it and check if Gandhi's glasses (spectacles) are broken.
If it has, its fake else… enjoy!!
Me: hmm, Now, I am going to kick your A**....
Friend: *^&# &^%

Also, check the Reserve Bank of India for more info.
